One of our big problem in Afghanistan is Internet Speed.

For Ubuntu users in Afghanistan it is real a big deal to download and install its necessary packages. This community is trying to make Linux as an every day operating system and make it more user friendly and easy for newbies to work with Linux system in Afghanistan and solved the packages problems by suggesting Hubuntu OS a customized version of Ubuntu, most popular Linux distribution, which contains all necessary packages for students and most specifically for computer scientist, for getting more information about this project

What is Hubuntu?

Hubuntu is abbreviation of Herat University Ubuntu Community. It is the first Linux community in Afghanistan, it is an independent organization for encouraging, distributing, developing and supporting Open Source OS's and applications. The Community motto is Join, Learn and Shared it.

The local activities in Computer Science faculty of Herat University has begun in April 2009 and now we are glad to publish our activities on the Internet for all Afghan Students and those who are interested all around the world. we are working on different projects, for example ...
